Abstract:Observations showed rapid weight gains by Siskins caught in north Sussex during the spring migration in 1984, and the possible origins of the migrants from data based on reports of ringed birds. The mean weight gain of 2.5g over ten days gave a fat load of 19% of body weight and a potential flight range of 400?500km.Observations showed rapid weight gains by Siskins caught in north Sussex during the spring migration in 1984, and the possible origins of the migrants from data based on reports of ringed birds.
