Duleep Matthai Nature Conservation Trust

"The Duleep Matthai Nature Conservation Trust" is registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 (29 of 1950) and the registered office of the Trust is in Vallabh Vidyanagar Gujarat- 388 120

The aims and objects is to support any purpose that contributes to sustaining and enhancing India's Ecological Security, particularly its basic life support system, through protecting, restoring and enriching India's Uplands Forest cover including conservation of the endangered plant and animal species and protection or restoration of fragile ecosystems.

The primary objectives of the Trust are:

a) To conserve natural ecosystem that provide the foundations of all life on earth by protecting plants, animals and natural communities that represent the biodiversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.

b) To influence, encourage and assist societies and/or individual to conserve the integrity and diversity of nature and to ensure that any use of natural resources is ecologically sustainable and equitable.

c) To undertake, encourage and sponsor studies, programmes and research related to -

i. the understanding and impart appreciation of the vital importance to the very existence of our people of the ecological processes of the county.

ii. the biology and ecology of the country's biodiversity particularly it's endemic and endangered species, all of which provide the foundation of the ecological security of the country and in turn of the region.

iii. The various aspects of the political economy of the associated human communities, and any other subject or matters related to the mission and objectives of the Trust.

d) To help create a coherent perspective on ecosystems, forests and water related land-use policy and practices as well as a conducive legal and regulatory environment, by disseminating knowledge and information and such other action that leads to policy makers, legislators, as well as administrators, professionals, other agencies, and the public-at-large, supporting the achievement of the Trust's Mission.

e) To publish pamphlets magazines, books etc. for the propagation of knowledge and education in the sphere of and also to get the same published and to arrange symposiums, talks, discussions and series of lectures for discussion of problems and to assist the institutions which carry on such work.
