Zosterops aureiventris.

Hartlaub's name lateralis, although long antedating Hume's name aureiventris, cannot be used for this bird as it is preoccupied by Latham's Sylvia lateralis, applied by him to the bird now known as Zosterops caerulescens. Hume's name therefore stands.

Key to Subspecies.

A. Flanks definitely pale grey; yellow on abdomen extensive……Z. a. aureiventris, p. 365.
B. Flanks almost white; yellow on abdomen less extensive………..Z. a. mesoxantha, p. 365
