Male 14". Female 14 1/2". Legs bright yellow. Bill yellow, terminal third black, basal two-thirds yellow. Head, neck, and breast light grey, passing into black. Lower plumage white. Small frontal lobes yellow. Winter, visitor to Bengal, Assam, and Burma, breeding in Mongolia, N. China, and Japan. (J. 854. B. 1434.)
