GENUS, Sturnia, Lesson.

Bill short, compressed, less stout than in Acridotheres, bare, deflected at the tip, often parti-colored ; wings moderate, first and second primaries sub-equal; Tail nearly even; tarsus short; lateral toes slightly unequal; claws more curved; head usually crested.
