Genus CHRYSOMITRIS

Chrysomitris Boie, Isis, 1828, p. 322. Type, Chrysomitris spinus Linn.

The genus Chrysomitris contains the Siskins, small birds of green plumage closely allied to the Linnets. In this genus the hill is small and very sharply pointed ; the tail is slightly forked ; the wing is long and pointed, the first or second primary being the longest. The sexes differ in colour, the female being streaked.
