Genus ROSTRATULA.

An aberrant form of Scolopacinae. Tibia much denuded. Bill curved slightly down at tip, and not pitted. Tail of fourteen to sixteen feathers. First and second quills subequal and longest. Sexes differ. Non-migratory. Ethiopian, Indian, Australian, and S. Neotropical regions.
