272. SUBSP. AEGITHALUS CORONATUS.
AEgithalus coronatus, Severtz. Turk. Jevot. p. 136, pl. 9. fig. 3, (1873) ; Gadow, Cat. B. Br. Mus. viii. p. 68 ; AEg. atricapillus, Severtz. op. cit p. 137, pl. 9, fig. 4.
Male ad. (Turkestan). Resembles AEg. pendulinus but has the forehead, sides of the crown and nape black, the centre of the crown mottled black and white. Culmen 0.35, wing 2.1, tail 1.8, tarsus 0.52 inch.
Hab. Western Turkestan. Does not differ in habits and nidification from AEg. pendulinus.
