99. Rallina canningi.

THE ANDAMANESE BANDED CRAKE.

Male 13" to 14 1/2". Legs olive-green. Bill 1 1/3", pale green. Head, neck, and above chestnut. Below black, banded white. Andaman Islands. Six eggs (1.4 x 1.09), pinkish, streaked and blotched chestnut. (B. 1397. H. & M. ii. 241.)

Also the genus Stictolimnas, with second and third quills equal and longest. One species— S. sharpii, 9", from S. America.

Also the genus Crecopsis. One species— C. egregia, 9", from tropical Africa.
