Pycnonotus aurigaster

Pycnonotus aurigaster Vieillot.
(Turdus aurigaster Vieill., Nouv. Dict. d'Hist. Nat., vol. xx, p. 258, 1812.)

* I cannot separate the African forms of yellow-vented Bulbuls generically from the Indian, so that Haematornis of Swainson must be treated as a synonym of Pycnonotus. If both Pycnonotus and Haematornis are accepted as good genera, then Rubigula, confined to the' uniform chest-patterned Bulbuls dispar and gularis, must also be accepted, as well as possibly one or two more.
