GENUS, Puffinus, Briss.

Bill longer than head, slender, compressed at point; lower mandible deflected at tip; nostrils in a double tube, extending along the upper surface of the bill; tarsus moderate, compressed ; toes three in front, rather long; hind-toe rudimentary ; first quill longest.
