Genus PALAEORNIS

GENUS, Palaeornis, Vigors.

Bill short; culmen rounded, well curved, toothed, and Avith the tip acute, not much deeper than it is long; lower mandible short ; wings long, with the second and third quills sub-equal and longest; tail very long, cuneate; the feathers narrow, almost linear, with their tips obtuse, and the two middle feathers in general exceeding the others.
