THE DALMATIAN PELICAN.

Male 64" to 72". Legs plumbeous. Bill from gape 17", plumbeous, nail orange. Pouch in breeding season orange. Silver-white. Crest full, soft, and recurving. Wings and back, at all seasons, white with black shafts. Tail of twenty-two feathers, white. S. E, Europe, N.W. Africa, and S.W. Asia as far east as India. Winter visitor to N. India and Sind. (B. 1522. S.E. i. 110.)
