Genus LYMNOCRYPTES.

Lymnocryptes Kaup, Skizz. En. Nat. Syst, p. 118 (1829).

Type by mon., Scolopax minima Brunnich.

In this genus the central tail-feathers are pointed and project beyond the others, there is no median pale coronal stripe and the plumage of the back and scapulars has an iridescent gloss.
