Genus EULABES

GENUS, Eulabes, Cuvier.

Bill short or moderate, stout, compressed; culmen gradually curved; tip notched; nostrils basal, lateral, placed in a plumed fossa; under mandible with the base broad and dilated; frontal feathers short, velvety, advancing on base of bill; head with naked wattles ; wings long, fourth quill longest, first short; tail short, even ; feet strong; tarsus equal to the middle-toe ; outer-toe slightly longer than inner one ; claws well curved; hind-toe and claw large.
