Genus DISSEMURULUS

I propose the above generic name for a bird which has hitherto been tossed about between the genera Dissemurus, Dissemuroides, and Dicrurus. Dissemurulus lophorhinus, the type and sole member of the genus, is characterized by the possession of a tuft of ordinary feathers, about half an inch long, on the forehead. This character separates it from the last two genera mentioned above, and it is separated from Dissemurus by the deeply forked tail, the outermost feathers of which are neither produced to an extraordinary Length, nor have a bare shaft with a short Length of terminal web.
