940. HARMAN’S SNOW-PHEASANT.
CROSSOPTILUM HARMANI.
Crossoptilum harmani, Elwes, Ibis, 1881, p. 399, pl. xiii. ; Ogilvie Grant, Cat. B. Br. Mus. xxii. p. 296.
Male ad. Differs from C. auritum in having a white band across the back of the head, and no white on the lateral tail-feathers.
Hab. Tibet, 150 miles east of Lhassa. Nothing is known respecting the habits of this species and the only specimen known is the type, now in the British Museum, which is in an advanced state of decay.
