Sterna leucopareia Temm., Man. d'Orn., 2nd ed., ii, p. 746 (Oct. 1820).

Type-locality: South Hungary.

This form is decidedly paler, both above and below, than in our Indian Whiskered Tern.

B. Palest of the three forms…………C. l. leggei, p. 113.
C. Darkest of the three forms…………C. l.. javanica, p. 113.
