Suborder OTI-LIMICOLAE.

The Oti-Limicolae are divided from the Laro-Limicolae in having the ectethmoid absent and from the Limicolae in having no basipterygoid processes. As at present restricted it contains but one family, the Oedicnemidae, or Stone-Plovers, which are represented over practically the whole of the Old World.
