Laiscopus Gloger, Handl. u. Hilfsb., p. 267 (1841). Type, Accentor alpinus.
The genus Laiscopus contains those Hedge-sparrows with a long pointed wing. They are considerably larger than the birds of the other genus and generally more extensively migratory.
The wing is longer than me tail by more than the length of the tarsus, the secondaries are only equal to the 7th or 8th primary.
